Description
What this net does
The CableSafe Fall Protection Safety Net is a personnel safety net designed to catch workers who fall from height and to contain falling debris or tools. It is installed as close as possible below the working surface — never more than 9 m (30 ft) beneath it — so the fall distance stays short and the energy absorbed by the net stays within safe limits.
When to use it
Use a fall protection net when workers are exposed to fall hazards and fixed edge protection such as guard rails is not available or practical. Typical applications include:
- Scaffolding and elevated work platforms in refineries and chemical plants
- Shipyard and offshore construction where primary edge protection is absent
- Work above roofs, bridges, or walkways where people or equipment below need protection
- Containment of construction debris, tools, or materials during overhead work
Why CableSafe
CableSafe safety products are developed for heavy industry, where the margin for error is zero. Our fall protection nets are certified to NEN-EN 1263-1 and used by refineries, chemical plants, shipbuilders, and nuclear and electrical installation contractors across Europe and beyond. Several multinationals specify CableSafe products in their internal safety procedures.
Regulatory background
NEN-EN 1263-1 specifies safety requirements and test methods for safety nets used in construction and assembly work. OSHA (29 CFR 1926.502) requires employers to provide a personal fall arrest system, guard rail, or safety net whenever workers are exposed to fall hazards. A compliant fall protection net is one of the accepted solutions under both frameworks.
